Lasagna 3

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 small greel peppeer (diced seeds and veins removed)
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 can tomato sauce (14 ounces)
  • 1 can whole tomatoes, diced (14 ounces)
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes (14 ounces)
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 ounces)
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 teaspoons Italian spice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • dash white vinegar

Directions

Sauté beef, onion and green pepper until beef is brown.

Drain

Put beef, onion and pepper in a 3 quart sauce pan. Add tomato sauce and paste. Add the juice from the stewed tomatoes and whole tomatoes which have been seperated with a sieve. Dice the tomatoes and add to sauce pan. Add spices, sugar , salt and vinegar.

Adjust to taste and simmer 45 minutes stirring frequently

Cook the lasagna noodles as per directions (al dente). Drain and place in cool water to store.

In dry lasagna pan, ladle one cup of sauce and spread along the bottom of the pan. Apply a layer of noodles (4). Spread sauce on noodles and add layer of mozzarella cheese. Place dollops of ricotta cheese about every 2 inches (about 1 tablespoon). Sprinkle an even layer of parmesan cheese. Apply a layer of noodles etc.
